How Things Have Changed (Part 1)

No comments:
I started WRYM back in January 2012. Although its only been 10 months, which in internet terms means WRYM is still a toddler, a lot has changed. By this mean our services, techniques, social presence and most noticeable the design of the site its self! For those viewers who have been with us since the beginning you may remember this...
In the past few months i have taken a more of a "sat back approach" as i was working on to many things at once which i feel led to a lack in article quality. But don't worry, those are out the window and I'm taking things slower. Some things I've been working on are way before there time but ONE day they will come around!

Many thanks to all you reading this and hope you will be here to read the next "How things have changed" post! But as usual, if you have liked this post then please share it, comment and check out the services we can provide for YOU!

Anyhow, these buttons took me around 20mins to make so you know i put loads of effort into them.

Im joking i actually like the uniqueness of these buttons as i haven't yet found any online that are similar. STOP! Before you say i know there are pictures similar but there not buttons! I have made this easy for you as all you have to do is copy and paste the following codes into your HTML/javascript gadget in you blog or website edit page.

History Of Blogger

(Posted By Dillon Smart - WRYM)
Blogger, it is a blog-publishing-tool for private or multi-user blogging. Founded in 1999 by Pyra Labs and was bought at a later date by Google in 2003. Now all the blogs are on Google's servers with a sub-domain .blogspot.com. It took Google 7 years until they allowed users to blog on other hosts via FTP.

When Blogger was launched its intentions were to popularize the blogging format or otherwise known as "web blogs". After Blogger was bought by Google they modified the templates, allowed any Google user to comment and launched email blogging. Later in 2004 Google purchased picasa and integrated it into Blogger, allowing users to add photos into their posts.

Blogging Tips Extended - Any Web Design Tips (WRYM)

7 comments:
Hello again, I'm going to start off by saying, and as you can tell by the title, this is an extended post so if you haven't already read the first post so you know where to start.

First of all I'm going to start with the blogging tips, and im not saying im the best blogger in the world because i can name 10 people who are amazing off the top of my head, anyhow, to be a successful blogger you don't have to have millions of views, loads of subscribers and thousands of followers on social networking sites, but its to actually enjoy what you are doing. There is no point doing something that you don't enjoy because your bound to give up, so write or record content that interests you!

How To Get More Viewers To Your Blog/Website?

No comments:
So, everyone who owns a blog or website has thought to themselves, "How do i get more people to view my posts?" I have seen many people asking this question and i have devised a plan on how you can do so. Just to warn, these steps have helped me and only be so i cant speak for every blogger out there, but i would like to know if it helps you. Leave a comment - share this post - or re-blog it if you think its that good!

I started by failing. I'm not ashamed to say it but i have learned from my mistakes and feel i am succeeding. No matter how many times you fail, always look at it as if  "That's one way i shouldn't do it" Its a known fact that you can't win without loosing. So if you ever run out of motivation because you aren't really engaging with your viewers just think, this will change.

Another way is free promotion, and before i start on this topic I'm going to say that i currently host free advertising HERE. Anyway, free promotion and advertising is right in front of you! Social media and social networking. All you have to do is build an audience on all the networking sites out there and there you go, its easy to copy and paste a link! Creating YouTube videos is a great way to engage with your audience, if they like you text based posts then i grantee they'le like your videos, people want to see the face behind the writing.

Expand you blogging experience

So the same problem occurs to bloggers and everyone will come across it, and that is running out of content or subjects to write about. So today i will give some pointers that i have came up with in my 2 years of writing content online. Also i will give help on getting more views to your site/blog. This can also help if you do Vlogs on YouTube.

  1. Have a schedule
  2. Heart and soul
  3. Make it interesting
  4. Social media
1. If you want to be writing content and have people keep coming back to read your posts make sure you have a time delay in-between each time you publish a post. By this i mean, dont write all your posts in a short amount of time and publish them. This is because you will soon run out of ideas and you may being to get bored of what you are doing and do the classic blogging mistake of giving up. I did this on this very blog, and luckily i didnt delete it because i returned after 3 months with over 1000 unique views, which gave me a little more motivation to continue.

If you want to keep a schedules then make certain points in time for when you will post a blog, i change mine from time to time and recently it has been one every day and i will try my hardest to keep it up but everyone has things to do.

Pre write some blogs so if you haven't got any time to sit down and write a blog, all you have to do is copy and paste it. It could take you 2 minuets to publish a blog post, rather than 60 minuets writing one when you havent got that time.

2. By putting you heart and soul into what ever content you are posting, if its text, pictures or videos, people will pick up on it and want to see more of you content. There is no point writing about stuff that doesn't particulate interest you because people will notice that in the effort you put in.

3. Put pictures in. Make the rest of your blog look appealing. You could be the best writer in the world but no body wants to read complete text after text. Spice things up a little. Make your blog or site look attractive or user friendly. The first thing people look at in a site is the colour, images and the flash content. Yeah they might glimpse at the text but the whole point of being a blogger is that you aren't writing a book. If your views want to read a book they will buy one. Take for example my blog. I have the odd advertisement, my twitter updates, images and a page bar. Its amazing what a page bar can actually do but i will expand on that in another post.

4. And finally, prompt your blog or website. By using social networking sites or expanding your online presence through different social media sites such as You Tube and Flickr you re getting the word out in many different places to a whole variety of people.

If you found this helpful, please share to help me along too.
