Will the world end this year?

Many people, throughout the whole of time, say that the earth has an expiration date. Not only that, people have been able to predict major disasters thousands of years before they occur. So what's saying there last predictions aren't true? Only time can tell on the 21st December 2012.

I'm stuck in the middle about this whole subject, I'm not saying that something will happen yet i feel like its all way to over speculated.

First of all The Mayans predicted the world to end on the 21 December 2012. The Mayans had a calendar lasting 5126, with the last year marking an end of an era, where something bad would happening taking the planet from one era to another leave what ever was there before behind. Unfortunately, in the Mayans eye, this is us being left behind. Not only this but scientist continuously track the solar cycle, which occurs every 11 years. Also sun spots can cause deadly solar flares that slowly strip away at the Earth's atmosphere. As you can see by this chart, Sun spots are becoming more and more common, which means the atmosphere is gradually getting ripped apart and deadly radiation may reach us in this life - time.

Scientists predict some when this year the sun will have a massive solar flare, emitting radiation at our planet, which there is a high chance we could see some horrific weather systems destroying the surface of the earth.

On top of all this there is global warming! With the risk of a solar storm making our weather deadly, global warming has been slowly doing this over the last 50 years.  For example, all the natural disasters that have been occurring over the last 3 years.

I'm not saying that something will happen that could destroy everything on earth will happen, but looking at the evidence and all the signs pointing to the same fixed point of time, something is surly going to go wrong. Governments will be keeping information that may suggest that the end of the world is this year, soully to keep everyone quiet and to prevent mass panic throughout the world. I mean come on, if you were told the world was coming to an end soon, you'd stop going to work and enjoy yourself whilst you can, causing the economy to drop.
